Zephyr Palace Wedding at Villa Caletas | Silya and Matthew

When I met Silya & Matthew the first time at a San José Hotel lobby, I knew that their Wedding would be amazing. They were looking for a spectacular and unique place to celebrate their Wedding, a place that resonates with their personality and style. I remember Silya told me that they were planning to visit at least eight different venues from around the world for their Destination Wedding. But, once she met Villa Caletas Hotel they decided to go for a unique Zephyr Palace Wedding with it’s amazing view of the Central Pacific Jaco area, so she told Matthew that it was the chosen one. Luckily for them, the Zephyr Palace was the first and last venue they visit, and they both fell in love with it.

The Zephyr Palace is a Luxury Wedding Venue in Costa Rica; it has one of the very best ocean views in Costa Rica since the Hotel is located at the top of a mountain 1100 feet above the Pacific Ocean. The Zephyr offers a private and unique property where couples can have all the facilities in one place for their Wedding to take place with style. It is not only the best ocean and sunset view of the Central Pacific that you would get; the Zephyr Palace has an amazing architecture surrounded with beautiful stoned walls, their suites are very comfortable, spacious and they have a unique, stylish décor as well. The property has four primary levels; all suites have their balcony and stunning open ocean views. The main pool is the perfect place to celebrate the Ceremony. It has a lovely and spacious ballroom a few steps from the pool for your Reception to take place. Silya and Matthew select the best time of the year for their Zephyr Palace Wedding because you would get the highest chance to have incredible sunsets. The day before the Wedding, we did a Pre-Wedding Beach session at Villa Caletas Beach and some photos during sunset for their rehearsal dinner at the Villa Caletas Amphitheater.

We start their Zephyr Palace Wedding day coverage (if you want to learn mor about our packages visit our Pricing Page) with both of them getting ready. Silya’s getting ready took place at the African Suite located at the main level. She was alongside their lovely and wonderful bridesmaids Ana, Kate, June, and her beautiful sister Emma. While she was having her makeup done, I took advantage of the fabulous suite décor to shot all the details, including her amazing wedding dresses (oh yeah, she has two, one for the Ceremony, and the other one for the Reception), the beautiful white orchid florals of her bouquet, as well as, her jewelry.

Matthew’s getting ready took place at the Imperial Suite, which has a perfect fit with his style and personality. He was alongside his immediate family, his brothers, and his parents.

After they were ready, we planned to do a First Look at the outside of the Zephyr Palace, which has a charming corridor surrounded by stoned walls. For the kind of dress with a long tail of Silya, this was the perfect spot to do so. All the bridesmaids help Silya to walk nearby Matthew which was impatiently waiting to see her. Right after the first look, we made some portraits and let them be ready for their Ceremony.

The Ceremony took place right at the main pool area with that imponent open Ocean View that you could appreciate through the imperial columns that stand out in the scenario. All the Couple’s wedding party walk down the stairs from the ballroom, and they were witnesses of an emotional ceremony accompanied by a stunning sunset.

Right after the Ceremony, we did some beautiful sunset portraits of them and their Wedding Party with the spectacular deep orange sunset and view from the pool area.

Once we finished the sunset portrait session, the Bride and Groom went to their suite and change their outfit and be ready for the Reception. In the meantime, we capture all the details and décor of the ballroom while the guests enjoy a cocktail hour on the second floor of the Zephyr Palace.

The Reception started with Sil & Matt first dance with “You are the Reason” from Calum Scott. After that, there were emotional and funny toasts by Matthew’s Brother Bryan as well as Silya’s sister Emma, and then the party started in which they have an incredible time with all their guests.

We close up our coverage with a beautiful and romantic night portrait session of them at the stairs from the outside of the ballroom, in which I wanted to take advantage of the candles that bring elegance and mood to the scene.

Lastly but not least, you should definitely check out the wonderful job made by Diego Herrán Films of Silya & Mattew’s Wedding. Here is their short Wedding film.

Special thanks to Silya & Matthew for their trust and love. We really have a wonderful time together, capturing their lovely and stunning Wedding, which will be unforgettable for me. Also, special thanks to all vendors involved in this project for making an awesome team work for this dream Wedding project.
