Costa Rica Beach Elopement

Suppose you are an adventure couple looking for exotic places to celebrate your ceremony. In that case, you should definitely consider a Costa Rica Beach Elopement.

Can I get married on a Beach in Costa Rica?

In Costa Rica, we have countless beaches around the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. There beaches are more popular than others, more developed than others. You can easily find one with a boutique rustic resort beachfront to celebrate your intimate Elopement Ceremony like Arezou & Curry, who decided to celebrate their union at the Alma del Pacifico Hotel on Esterillos Beach. Remember that all Costa Rica beaches are public, so there are no restrictions to consider. There could be some horses going by the beach, some people walking during sunset, or other unique wonders you will find in Costa Rica!

Choose the best time of the year to Elope in Costa Rica

The best weather to celebrate a Costa Rica Beach Elopement is the high season, from late November until April. If you plan to get married and would love to have the best Costa Rica Wedding vendors, you may need to book your preferred vendors at least eight months before your elopement date.

You can expect fantastic tropical weather in Costa Rica all year. Still, in other months outside the high season, there is a high chance of heavy rains, mostly during afternoons, so there is less chance of getting a spectacular sunset, especially on beaches closest to our mountains, like all those in the mid-central Pacific.

Tips for your Costa Rica Beach Elopement

Duration of your stay:

First, decide the duration of your stay; for visiting and exploring our country, the most common duration is at least one week, ideally two. When visiting Costa Rica, there are three main tourist areas: Guanacaste, La Fortuna, and Manuel Antonio, as well as their surroundings. If you rent a car (preferably a 4×4), you can quickly move from one another, and you can split your stay into those areas so you can leave with a great taste of most of the wonders of our country.

Booking flights and transportation:

Depending on what airport you will be arriving at, you may prefer a Guanacaste area beach if you land at the Daniel Oduber Liberia airport for your Costa Rica Beach Elopement or any of the mid-central Pacific beaches if you land at the Juan Santamaria main Costa Rica airport. Driving from those airports to any of the beach locations can take you between one to two hours, with some exceptions, of course.

Complimentary activities:

Be ready for the adventure. From hiking, horseback riding, ziplining, ATV tours, many water activities to choose from, fishing, and even playing golf near the beach, Costa Rica has it all. For booking that kind of activity, most of the mainhotels and resorts have a concierge office that offers you the best alternatives. You will also find tour offices around the city’s main beaches. Please only leave your Costa Rica adventure with a try on some of them.

Packing for your travel adventure:

Our weather is primarily hot and high humidity. Depending on the kind of activities you plan to have, you should consider comfy sneakers, plenty of shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, a light rain jacket, hats, and something essential, lots of sunscreen and mosquito spray!!! Remember that if you plan to visit other high areas like Monteverde, La Fortuna, or even lodging on San Gerardo de Dota or similar mountain destinations, the weather is fresh and cold, so a warmer fleece is a great idea, too.

What are beach elopements like in Costa Rica?

Let the images from Arezou and Curry’s elopement I captured give you a sense of inspiration about what to expect from a Costa Rica Beach Elopement. Our Elopement coverage usually lasts three hours, during which we can have one hour for getting ready, the ceremony, and time to have fun during your portrait session at sunset. But every couple has their own story, right? Our elopement coverage adjusts regarding your story, and that’s why I recommend booking a Zoom consultation call to talk a bit more in-depth about your vision for your adventure in Costa Rica and give you lots of good insights for your planning.

Alma del Pacifico Hotel Wedding Venue

One of my favorite venues for elopements and small beach weddings is Alma del Pacifico, a boutique 4-star hotel located at Esterillos Este Beach in the Mid-Central Pacific area between Jaco Beach and Manuel Antonio National Park. Its colorful villas with stunning open ocean or tropical garden views will provide a relaxed environment during your stay. You will also find plenty of nearby adventure activities to complement your trip. The hotel staff is amiable and warm, and they will help you plan your dream celebration.
